This year's major vacation will be to Italy. Specifically, we'll be starting out in Bologna, which we'll be using as a hub from which to visit several cities in the surrounding countryside: Parma, home of parmigiano reggiano (that famous hard cheese) and prosciutto di Parma (Parma ham); Modena, home of the world's most famous balsamic vinegar; Rimini, where we have Italian friends; and Ravenna, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its tile mosaics. We'll then relocate to Perugia for a couple days, as they have famous chocolate (the Perugina chocolate factory)—also culture and history, but... chocolate! We finish our trip with a 6-day hiking holiday in Umbria.
Time and mental energy permitting, we'll blog and post a few photos as we go. Here's where we went, and when:

April 26: Rimini region
April 27: Bologna to Perugia
April 28: Perugia
April 29: Perugia to Spoleto
April 30: Spoleto to Ferentillo
May 1: Ferentillo to Labro
May 2: Labro to Greccio
May 3: Greccio to Casperia
May 4: Casperia to Misciani
May 5: Misciani to Mompeo
May 6: Travel home and final thoughts.
